Our hot long summer is finally yielding to cool nights and water temperatures are dropping off the 70 degree mark. Two wildfires near Dads Lake and two near Horseshoe Lake made for a scare this summer, but all is well. It was interesting to see the helicopters dipping water from our lakes. Currently Dads Lake has some large very fat rainbow and a large number of natural spawn small brooks coming on to replace the big brooks passing on of old age. At Horseshoe Lake expect some great fishing with a lot of 18 inch plus fish, maybe to many. The Eastern Brooks are the Little Moose as always will be a great couples get away in a beautiful fall setting with this years planting of 12 to 18 inch Rainbow moving to the surface to catch the last of the insects for the year. Remember those with Washington hunting license and tags can hunt and fish at no additional cost. (Cast and Blast). At For next year both Horseshoe and Dads lake will be closed July 15 thru August 15. With a lot of real nice fish this year in the 5 to 7 pound range, a combination of the larger fish not processing oxygen as well, the warm water temperature with lower oxygen levels and the size of the fish being played longer we believe the prudent thing to do is close during this period in hopes to make our quality fishery even better. Little Moose will remain open and with its deeper water and We still have plenty of fall dates open. Give us a call for some fall fishing and life time memories. Thank you,
